The Diamond Baseball League (DBL) is a professional-grade collegiate summer baseball league which will begin play in 2026. The League has secured its six inaugural markets in Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, which include first class facilities and multi-year stadium leases.
The league will own and operate each of the six inaugural teams to ensure operational consistency and efficiency and the long-term financial security and growth of the League. The DBL leadership team has over 100 years of combined professional sports experience, including ownership and operation of collegiate summer, independent and minor league teams, and leadership positions in Major League Baseball.
The leadership team includes Bill Davidson and Matt Perry, principals of National Sports Services (www.nsssports.com), Ralph Nelson, a former Major League Baseball executive and Dan Roman, a Certified Public Accountant.
For the League, Bill Davidson oversees team management and operations, drawing on decades of minor league sports experience. Matt Perry leads league development and expansion, having founded and managed numerous collegiate summer and professional teams and leagues. Ralph Nelson, as League Commissioner, manages baseball operations and investor relations, following a 25-year MLB career including executive roles and franchise start-ups. Dan Roman manages financial operations with extensive experience in sports finance and accounting.
The league is focused on building a national reputation for player development, professionalism and fan and community engagement, while replicating the environment of minor league baseball. The League anticipates soon becoming one of the premier and most successful summer collegiate leagues in America.
